How to chose a Christmas Lighting Installer near me?

Picking a holiday lighting installation company can be overwhelming. Here are a few tips that Aggieland Christmas Lights recommend doing.

  1. Do your research. Is the company a real company or just someone with a ladder and a phone number on a sign? Are they trained to not damage your roof shingles, siding, and or familiar with electricity as to not burn down your house?

  2. Do they have an business name, online presence, reviews, website? Can you get a hold of them next year? If they don’t have the things above, its likely they will take your money and run, and or not be in business the following year.

  3. Are they insured? If you’re trusting someone to work on possibly your most valuable asset (your home) the contractor needs to be insured. General liability, umbrella, workers comp and commercial auto. Make sure the limits cover at minimum the property value and its contents.

  4. Interview them. Are they the right fit for your needs, do their morals align, how do they treat their staff, would you trust them decorate your sweet grandmothers house?

How long does it take to install my lighting?

  1. We want your house to be perfect! Installation times typically take on average between 1-4 hours depending on the home and design. Other factors that vary would be things like the type of roof, the height, equipment needs, time of day, etc.

  2. Installations can start from anywhere between 9AM – 7PM depending on our schedule. Us installers don’t mind working in the dark, it actually helps us!

When is the best time to schedule my holiday light installation?

  1. The earlier the better! We start installs as early as October as we get fully booked by Mid-November!

How do I store my Christmas lights?

  1. Inspect your display and if you notice any bulbs or damaged wire replace them with new ones. Do this before you store them to make next year easier and safer.

  2. Hang lights up to dry before storing away in a breathable container to avoid moisture damage.

Are Christmas lights a fire hazard?

  1. Christmas lights can be a fire hazard if they are not installed or used properly. However, if you follow the proper safety precautions, you can reduce your risk of a fire.

  3. To prevent electrical shocks, be sure to unplug your Christmas lights when you're not using them. You should also avoid using extension cords that are damaged or frayed.

How much energy do Christmas lights use?

  1. The amount of energy that Christmas lights use depends on the type of lights you have and how many lights you're using. On average, a string of 100 LED Christmas lights uses about 2 watts of power.

  2. LED bulbs are more efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs and can use up to 90% less electricity. For example, a 300 ft. strand of incandescent bulbs on a standard roof line would use 2,100 watts of power, while the same length of LED bulbs would only use 29 watts. This means less extension cords, lower power bill and even brighter lighting!
